“Your big self is authentic, original, and full of personality. It’s creative and confident. When you are in your big self, you are full of possibility and willingness to try. You are intellectually fearless. Thinking about your big self is a great tool for tapping into your potential.”

I shared the above thoughts with students during opening assemblies on the first day of school. You can listen to the full remarks below. My hope was to remind everyone that we need to be brave and bring our best selves to school—to explore our incredible SLS opportunities, to live fully, and to speak up and try new endeavors.

To do all this requires a kind culture. All of us need to help make SLS a place where it’s possible for everyone to be their big selves—the full people we are when we feel truly comfortable.
